There has been an upgrade to Globestock's fall arrest and load arrest rope kits. We are switching from a shock absorber spring to a rubber stopper (see picture).
There are number of reasons for making the upgrade:
Shock impact has less recoil, which means there is now little to no chance of the pawls inadvertently locking in place if the rope is accidentally released.
The rubber is less reactive and will fare better in corrosive environments than the plated steel spring.
More durable and less chance of distorting and damaging if the unit is subjected to severe impact.
Ergonomically superior with no chance of sharp edges.
